Alex Iwobi delivered a masterclass performance on Sunday as Fulham edged past title-chasing Liverpool in a 3–2 victory at Craven Cottage.
Iwobi was central to Fulham’s stunning first-half turnaround, scoring one and assisting another in a game that rocked the Premier League title race.
Liverpool drew first blood in the 14th minute when Alexis Mac Allister unleashed a thunderous strike from distance after a clever pass from Ryan Gravenberch.
However, Fulham hit back nine minutes later, Ryan Sessegnon levelled the score with a calm finish, setting the tone for a frantic first half.
Fulham seized the momentum, and in the 32nd minute, Iwobi gave Fulham the lead with a composed finish of his own.
The 28-year-old wasn’t done yet as just five minutes later, he turned creator, delivering a perfectly weighted pass for Rodrigo Muniz to make it 3–1 before the half-time whistle.
Liverpool rallied in the second half, and Luis Díaz pulled one back in the 72nd minute, converting from close range after a good work by Conor Bradley.
However, Fulham starved off Liverpool’s late attacking pressure to preserve their slender advantage.
The result handed Liverpool their first away defeat of the league campaign and dealt a blow to their title hopes.
Meanwhile Fulham moved to eighth on the table, boosting their chances of securing European football next season.
Following his performance, Iwobi was named Man of the Match, while his teammate Calvin Bassey also put in a rock solid display at the back, playing the full 90 minutes in defence.

Iwobi continues to prove just how valuable he is to Marco Silva’s side. His movement, composure, and creative spark have been key assets for Fulham this season.
