Alex Iwobi says Everton has to believe they can get something out of their game against in form Newcastle United this Thursday.

Everton will host Newcastle at the Goodison Park later this evening, with premier league survival at stake.

The Magpies are favorites for the win, having defeated Tottenham 6-1, while Everton managed to grind out a goalless draw with Crystal Palace last time out.

In addition, Everton only recorded one victory against the Magpies in the past six Premier League meetings, with Iwobi getting a 99th-minute winner at Goodison Park.

While it’s Newcastle’s game to lose, Iwobi believes Everton has been boosted with returning players and they can grind out a win.

“It’s another game at home with the fans behind us. That should lift and motivate us,” Iwobi said on Everton website.

“Newcastle are coming off the back of a good win, but we’ve got the motivation and a couple of players coming back. Doucs and Dom are back.

“Hopefully, Amadou will be back as well. With everyone returning, there is strength in depth in the squad, so we should do well.​

“The result we had last time at home against them should give us added motivation too.”

Iwobi, who has made eight goal contributions (1goal, 7 assists) in 32 league appearances this season, is expected to start the game.
