Japan inflicts defeat on Super Falcons

The Super Falcons of Nigeria suffered yet another defeat in international friendly match, this time against Japan in Kobe this morning.

Nigeria was beaten 2-0 by the Asian giants and 2011 FIFA World Cup winners.

The game is part of the preparation for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup for both sides and the Japanese appeared to be far ahead of their visitors.

A goalless first half lead to a more commanding display from Nadeshiko Japan, as they scored twice in the second half to take the win.

Mina Tanaka scored both goals, the first from a free kick and the second from penalty spot to inflict another friendly defeat on the Super Falcons.

Super Falcons also lost two friendly matches against the United States women’s national team, last time out to make five consecutive defeats in as many matches under their American coach.
