Nigerian football Legend, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha had praised South Africa goalkeeper, Oscarine Masuluke for his nomination in this year’s FIFA Puskás Award, and hopes he wins.

Baroka goalkeeper, Masuluke scored a stoppage-time equaliser with a bicycle kick and Okocha maintains the rarity of such a goal and the scorer should count for the goalie.

10 goals were shortlisted including those of Mario Mandzukic for Juventus in the final against Real Madrid last season.

Olivier Giroud Scorpion kick against Crystal Palace and Nemanja Matic’s goal for Chelsea against Spurs in the FA Cup semi final match at Wembley.

Speaking on his choice, Okocha said, “I think they were all amazing goals, but the one I will vote for is the goalkeeper [Oscarine Masuluke] because it happens very rarely.

“It’s not just very rare for a goalkeeper to score, but to score a bicycle kick in the last minute of the game as well. I think it’s special.”
