Raúl Jiménez scored a brace to lead Mexico to their first CONCACAF Nations League title in a
2-1 win over Panama.
The attacker opened the scoring just eight minutes into the match with a header, but Adalberto
Carrasquilla equalized for Panama just before halftime.

In the 90th minute, Panama’s centre-back José Córdoba handled the ball inside his own 18-yard box, resulting in a penalty for the Mexicans.

Jiménez successfully converted the spot-kick, sealing the victory.

After losses to the United States in the 2019-20 and 2023-24 finals, the team finally secured the
title, avoiding a third consecutive defeat in the Nations League final.

Jiménez, with 39 goals for Mexico, surpassed Cuauhtémoc Blanco to become the country’s third all-time top scorer.

The 33-year-old striker led his side to their first Nations League title and their 17th official
trophy overall.
