Joe Aribo Declares Readiness To Hurt Benin And Lesotho

Nigeria midfielder Joe Aribo has disclosed that he can’t wait to be part of the Super Eagles fold as they prepare to face Benin and Lesotho in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.

The Rangers midfielder, who netted in his first two games for the Super Eagles, is part of the 23-man players invited by Gernot Rohr for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Benin on Wednesday and Lesotho on Sunday.

However, the 23-year old could still switch nationality and play for England, his country of birth despite turning out for Nigeria in the game against Ukraine and Brazil.

The former Charlton Athletic midfielder did not backtrack on his decision to don the green and white jersey of Nigeria.

“It is always good to be part of the international squad,” Aribo told Rangers TV.

“I think it is like an honour to represent my country so I’m just happy to be out there and I can’t wait to go out there to play.”

Joe Aribo is expected to join the rest of team in camp as the Super Eagles cook up the tactical plans needed to shoot down the Squirrels of Benin and Crocodiles of Lesotho.
