Joel Obi’s goal leads Chievo Verona to vital win over Frosinone

Nigeria midfielder Joel Obi scored for Chievo Verona in their  2-0 win over Frosinone in Serie B clash on Monday night.

Obi started the game for the Aglietti Alfred’s men but was yellow-carded in the 19th minute for a rough tackle.

 

The Super Eagles and former Inter Milan defensive midfielder scored the opener for the Marc Antonio Bentegodi’s outfit in the 54th minute.

 

The Nigerian was later replaced by Giovanni Di Noai in the 67th minute, but Emanuel Vignato scored Chievo’s second of the game to Alessandro Nesta’s team to their 9th defeat of the campaign.

 

The goal is Joel Obi’s first for the campaign in 22 league games.

 

Meanwhile, In another Serie B game, 2018 World Cup striker Simy Nwankwo came on in the second half as promotion chain Crotone played 1-1 with Ascoli.

 

Nwankwo who has 13 goals this season replaced Kristiano Armenteros with half an hour left in the game but was unable to add to his tally.
