Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu has hit back at the unnamed NFF official who claimed he is no longer relevant in the National Team.
The unnamed official of the Nigeria Football Federation granted an interview to the Guardian shortly after John Ogu posted a message on social media urging his teammates to boycott the upcoming 2022 African Cup qualifiers, due to the #EndSARS shooting.
The Politicians should asked their children to go and represent Nigeria in the next @NGSuperEagles , @thenff upcoming games . 💔💔💔

In his interview with Guardian, The NFF official described Ogu as unpatriotic and called on him to imitate Didier Drogba who used football to stop the civil war in his country.
In his response, Ogu said that he only asked people in power to tell their children to represent the country since it is right for them to allow other people’s children to be killed.
Ogu said that the official wants him to emulate Didier Drogba while they cannot emulate football officials from countries like Portugal and others who give the welfare of their players priority attention.
