John Ugochukwu Ogu has hailed Nigeria football fans for their support in Johannesburg as the Super Eagles qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon.
Ogu, who started his first competitive game since last November’s 1-1 draw against Algeria which he scored, gave a good account of himself in the midfield as the Eagles were largely undone by poor officiating in their 1-1 draw away at South Africa.
He earned his 20th cap in the game, however, drew positives whilst praising the Nigerian fans for their total support.
“I’m super happy with our qualification to the AFCON. I understand our fans want our A1 performance in every game.
“The only positive out here is the fact that we have qualified for the AFCON. Thank you to our fans all over the world,” Ogu posted.
