Josh Maja joins Fulham on loan from Bordeaux

English Premier League side Fulham has secured the signing of Super Eagles striker Josh Maja on loan from Bordeaux.

 

Fulham announced the deal through their official website as the former Sunderland striker become their latest Nigerian import.

 

The 22-year-old striker will remain with Fulham for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign, with an option for the deal to be made permanent.

 

Speaking to fulhamfc.com after signing, Maja said: “I’m really excited and proud to sign for Fulham on loan for the remainder of the season.

 

“This is a big opportunity and I look forward to meeting up with the team and working hard to achieve positive results.”

 

Fulham’s technical director Tony Khan also said they are delighted with his arrival and they hope he can prove himself in the best league in the world.

 

Maja joined Bordeaux in January 2019 ad a promising youngster, but he never managed to hold down a regular place in the Navy lineup and White despite some good performances.

 

Maja scored 11 goals and 3 assists in 48 games for the Jean-Louis Gasset’s side in two years.
