Joy Omewa delivered once again for Fortuna Hjorring in their 1-1 draw with Brøndby — a result that confirmed the club as Danish league champions with three matches to spare.

The former Confluence Queens star struck in the first half to give the visitors the lead at Brøndby Stadium.

Despite Dajan Hashemi equalizing in the second half, the point was enough to seal Fortuna Hjorring’s title triumph in style.

Omewa, 22, has been in electrifying form throughout the season and now leads the league’s scoring chart with 18 goals and four assists, underlining her influence in Fortuna’s title-winning campaign.

With 45 points from 21 games, Fortuna sit 10 points clear of second-placed Nordsjaelland, who they will face again in the Danish Women’s Cup final on May 17, 2025.

Following that showdown, Fortuna will round off their league season with matches against Aarhus, Odense Q, and a final encounter against Nordsjaelland.

Omewa’s standout season is expected to draw increased attention from top European clubs and further boost her profile as a leading prospect for Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
