Joy Omewa Scores in Fortuna Hjorring Defeat to Odense

Nigeria forward, Joy Omewa continued her fine form in Denmark, scoring for Fortuna Hjorring in their 2-1 defeat to Odense Q in Saturday’s Elitedivisionen Championship clash at the Nord Energi Arena.

Rylan Childers gave the visitors an early lead in the 9th minute, but Omewa leveled matters 11 minutes later, finishing off an assist from Sydney Masur.

However, Dikte Bang struck nine minutes from time to seal victory for Odense Q.

Omewa, who played the full match, has now scored 17 goals in 19 league appearances, consolidating her place at the top of the goal scorers’ chart.

She also has four assists to her name this season.

Following the defeat, Fortuna Hjorring remain top of the table with 44 points, 10 points ahead of second-placed Nordsjaelland, who have a game in hand.

Fortuna Hjorring will face Koge next on May 4, 2025.
