Julius Aghahowa says Nigeria can No Longer Underrate Sierra Leone

Julius Aghahowa has warned the Super Eagles against underrating their opponents when the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers kicks off.

Nigeria was drew the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau and Mauritius in Group A of the 2023 AFCON qualifier.

The qualifying matches will take place between June 2022 and March 2023, and Jose Peseiro’s side are favorites to top the group.

Speaking of Nigeria’s chances, Aghahowa stated that it won’t be business as usual for the Super Eagles and warned against underrating any team.

“I also want to see the Super Eagles come out on top, but it doesn’t mean well roll over everyone and win the games,” said the former Super Eagles Forward.

“We have to approach the games with all seriousness, because teams love to bring their best when they are facing the Super Eagles.

“And this upcoming qualifiers is another opportunity for them, so our players have to serious and get the results,” He told brila.net.
