Super Eagles new invitee, Junior Lokosa has expressed his excitement after being named in Coach Gernot Rohr’s provisional World Cup List.
Brila.net’s Tony Bekederemo called the Kano pillars forward shortly after the list was released on Monday, and the striker was amazed claiming he never heard until now.
“Sincerely, I am just hearing the news right now, but then I have to give all the Glory to God” Lokosa told brila.net
Anthony Bekederemo quickly informed Lokosa that he will be vying for a shirt with experienced Super Eagles star, in Jude Ighalo, Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi and Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho.
Lokosa responded by saying it’s another call for him to work harder, another challenge he hopes to overcome.
Also in the team are Leicester City’s duo of Wilfried Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Ogenyi Onazi, Kenneth Omeruo, Ahmed Musa and China-based Odion Ighalo.
But missing from the 30-man selection released on Monday are Brown Ideye, Dele Alampasu, Anthony Nwakaeme, Henry Onyekuru, Victor Osimhen and Kayode Olanrewaju.
Nigeria begin their 2018 Fifa World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 16 at the Kaliningrad Stadium before facing Iceland (June 22) and Argentina (June 26) in Volgograd and Saint Petersburg respectively.
