Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has confirmed that Samuel Kalu will be back in the national team soon, as he remains in contentionfor a place in Super Eagles 2019 AFCON team.
Reports circulating the media has it that the Bordeaux winger has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season and he’s unlikely to be fit for the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt taking place this summer .
Although the former Gent of Belgium winger had off field trouble along with injury which has kept him out of action for nearly two months.
He also withdrew from the Nigeria squad for their games against Seychelles and Egypt because of a hamstring injury which he’s still recovering from.
Speaking on the player‘s Rohr told journalists that the player is getting back to shape.
”He’s doing better even though this story (the kidnapping of his mother) physically exhausted him because he did not sleep for a week, and he’ll be back in the group soon.”
Kalu has played 35 games for club and country in the 2018-2019 season, scoring five goals.
