Head coach of Kano Pillars football club Ibrahim Musa said his side will be of dangerous Niger Tornadoes ahead of the Aiteo FA Cup finals on Sunday in Kaduna.
Kano Pillars who narrowly lost the league title to Enyimba Intl of Aba will want to redeem themselves by winning the Aiteo cup on Sunday.
Coach Ibrahim Musa who said his goal is to win the Aiteo cup for his state and people of Kano is weary of dangerous Niger Tornadoes who eliminated Rivers United in semi finals and said he will not take the Minna based club for granted.
Coach Musa said he is contended with his team performance in the league and Aiteo cup after 17 matches
“If you check this year record we finished second in the league and we played about six matches towards the end of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League season with seven matches only one lost, that loss didn’t change kano Pillars position because we lost the final match 3-0 at FC Ifeanyi Uba and still maintained the second position behind Akwa United in our group.
“So we come straight to Super six we played five matches unbeaten, taking the form into the Aiteo Cup, we played five matches unbeaten. If you calculate the matches, we played 17 matches with only one lost if you check these performances then Kano Pillars have really done well but are not going to take Niger Tornadoes for granted because Cup game is usually a very dangerous competition. He said.
Kano Pillars lost last year final in Asaba to Enugu Rangers on penalties after leading 3-0.
They started their 2019 Aiteo FA cup journey with a 4-0 victory over Aspire Academy before beating ABS of Ilorin 1-0.
They defeated Kwara United on penalties in the round of 16 before trashing Aklosendi of Lafia 4-0 in the quarter finals and won Calabar Rovers on penalties to reached their second consecutive finals.
