Super Eagles striker Kayode Larry Olarenwaju scored his second goal in this season’s UEFA Europa league for Sivasspor last night.
Olarenwaju was on target in his team 1 – 2 home defeat to Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday.
The former Manchester City and Girona forward opened the scoring in the 55th minute with a fine finish from inside the box.
The goal was Kayode’s second for Sivasspor in this season Europa league as he was also on target against Villarreal on matchday one.
Olarenwaju’s side had the opportunity to extend their lead from the spot six minutes later, but Samba Camara missed the penalty.
Sivasspor’s lead was canceled out in the 68th minute as Bilton before Peretz netted the equalizer for the visitors.
The Israeli side snatched all the three points after Dor Peretz scored the winning goal in the 74th minute
Sivasspor is third in Group I with zero points from two matches, they are followed by Qarabag who are winless in the group, but conceded a lot of goals.
Samuel Chukwueze’s Villarreal sits on top of the group with six maximum points and with a better goal difference ahead of second-placed Maccabi Tel Aviv who also has six points.
