Kennedy Boboye ready to quit Plateau United

Kennedy Boboye could be ready to walk away from Plateau United whether or not the club ends the season as Champions.

Boboye is on the verge of securing a maiden league title with the club, albeit with 12 points yet to fight for.

Despite holding a six-point advantage at the summit and with four games to the conclusion of the 2016/17 campaign, Plateau United coach, Kennedy Boboye refuses to be drawn on opinion his side have clinched the Nigeria Professional Football League silverware.

Ibeh Johnson’s early strike ensured the Peace Boys caged closest competitiors, MFM, thus, putting them on the brink of title glory with four games left to play this season.

“It wasn’t an easy match. We are happy we got our three points against MFM,” Boboye told reporters.

However, the club’s management may start shopping for a replacement after news emerged that the 43-year-old has applied for a national team job.

The NFF on Thursday released a statement regarding vacant Coaching positions in several national teams.

In the release, 59 applicants were listed including Boboye.

But he is not the only Coach in the NPFL seeking pastures green.

Among those listed are Fidelis Ilechukwu, Gbenga Ogunbote, Abdullahi Maikaba, Abdullahi Biffo to name a few were also mentioned.

The interview is scheduled for 22 August in Abuja.
