Kenneth Omeruo savors Super Eagles hard fought win over Cape Verde

Kenneth Omeruo is delighted with Super Eagles victory over Blue Sharks Of Cape Verde on Tuesday.

Nigeria defeated the Pedro Leitão Brito’s led side 2-1 at the Estadio Municipal Aderito Sena, Mindelo on Tuesday evening.

Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem were given the nod to lead the defense in the absence of the William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun.

The duo combined well and helped the Gernot Rohr tutored side grind out an impressive 1-2 away win.

Reacting to the result, Omeruo described it as a very good win and urged the team to keep gong forward.

“Good win away from home. Naija spirit, we keep going.” He posted on his Instagram page.

The three points increased Nigeria’s tally to six points from two games, while Cape Verde slipped to third behind Liberia.

Central African Republic occupies the bottom of the Group with a point from two game.
