Paul Onuachu took his goal tally for the season to twelve, with four against Sporting Charleroi on Friday night.
It is refreshing to see the striker score regularly, after his slow start to the season, where he failed to score in his six league games after returning from a injury he copped in pre-season.
However, the Striker found his goal scoring touch again, relying on his height for the most part.
Standing at a little over 2 meters, Onuachu, has become dangerous weapon and has scored 24 headed goals in three seasons — No one in Europe has more.
However, for many who don’t know, the man behind Onuachu’s hot form is a pin sized Belgian Midfielder Mike Tresor.
Tresor has created five of Onuachu’s twelve goals this season, including two of the four against Charleroi.
Paul Onuachu and Mike Tresor have ravaged defenses in the Jupiler Pro League this season and the Nigerian is full of praises for his teammate.
“I just have to point and Mike brings the ball exactly to that place. It’s great to have someone like that as a teammate.
“Tresor is a good player, real quality. At 3-1, the fans shouted that they wanted half-price beer, so we made the fourth,” Onuachu told Eleven.
With his recent assists for the Nigeria, Tresor, now has 13 assists, most by any one in the league.
“It’s easy when you have someone like Onuachu walking in the rectangle. He’s so big. You can exploit that very easily.
“He is huge and you have to take advantage of that. First it is good to look and then you have to try to give the ball as good as possible,” Tresor said about the partnership with Onuachu.
With Tresor creating and Onuachu scoring regularly, Genk have a chance of winning the league this season.
KRC Genk top the table with 43 points after 15 games — and on nine game winning streak.
