Esther Onyenezide has received a late call-up for Nigeria’s 2024 Women’s Olympic qualifying games against Ethiopia.

Onyenezide was drafted into the squad after Halimatu Ayinde, Regina Otu, Osinachi Ohale and Christy Ucheibe pulled out of the fixture.

The midfielder was impressive at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, but hasn’t really got a chance to feature for the senior team.

The upcoming 2024 Women’s Olympic qualifying matches against Ethiopia starts, with the first leg in Addis Ababa and the return leg in Abuja.

Whoever progresses will go on to face the winner between Cameroon and Uganda.

The Falcons were drawn bye in previous round after Sao Tome and Principe pulled out due to financial difficulty.
