Leicester City Boss Provides Update On Wilfred Ndidi

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is confident that Super Eagles’ midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi will be available for selection when the Foxes trade tackle with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier league opener at the King Power Stadium on August 11.

Ndidi is currently on holiday after helping win a bronze medal at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and has been excused from Leicester’s pre-season training so far.

However , Brenda Rodgers is desperate to have the player back in time for the new English premier league season which will kick off in two weeks.

Ndidi has missed Leicester‘s first three warm up games so far including 2-2 draw with Rotherham United on Saturday , Rodgers said the 22-year-old will be back in training next week, but will sit out of the next Saturday’s fixture against Serie A side Atalanta.

“He [Ndidi] will be back towards the Atalanta game. He won’t be involved in that, but he will be training for a few days before that,” Rodgers was quoted by Leicestershire Live.

“He will be available for the first game.” The Foxes’ boss added.
