Libya have charged into the lead of the 2019 Afcon qualifying group E – which also houses Nigeria and South Africa – following a comfortable 5-1 victory against Seychelles on Friday.
The Mediterranean Knights dominated the game from the blast of the whistle putting three goals past their visitors in the first half.
In the second, two more goals hit the back of the net in the 66th and 84th minutes before the group E minnows grabbed a consolation on the stroke of 90 minutes.
There were five different goal scorers for Libya as they showed their attacking prowess in a group where three-time champions Nigeria and 1996 Afcon winners South Africa are tipped as heavy favorites.
The two heavyweights clash later on Saturday in the second game of the group.
Only one team will qualify automatically from the group.
