Super Eagles Midfielder Alex Iwobi lost another Merseyside derby with Everton on Monday night.
The Toffees lost 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield, as Sean Dyche’s side remain in the relegation zone while Liverpool move into ninth after securing first league win of 2023.
Iwobi was given another start by Sean Dyche following his impressive performance against Arsenal last week.
The Nigerian was on for the entire duration of the game, and managed just one shot at goal.
With Everton trailing 2-0, courtesy of goals from Mohammed Salah and Coady Gakpo. Everton boss sent on Tom Davies and the English boy should have halved the deficit with 10 minutes remaining.
Tom Davies was teed up by Alex Iwobi who sent in deadly cross into the Reds’ box but Davies headed wide from good position.
It was one of the few occasions the visitors delivered a ball of quality into the Liverpool box.
