Liverpool have confirmed the club has agreed a deal for Southampton’s Center Back, Virgil Van Dijk in what could be a whooping £75million ($100m) transfer record fee for a defender.
The Ponytail-wearing defender was subject of a nasty business between the two clubs after the Netherlands International tried to force a move to Anfield in the Summer.
Manchester City set the most recent record with the £54million transfer fee paid for Tottenham’s Kyle Walker in the summer.
According to a statement on the club’s website on Wednesday, the 26-year-old will officially make the switch on January 1, 2018 when the transfer window re-opens.
Van Dijk will be assigned squad number four according to the very brief update on the transfer.
