Lobi Stars will play host to the 2020/2021 NPFL Crown Champions Akwa United in the last league game of the season on Thursday August 5, 2021 as the visitors move the celebration mood to Makurdi.
Taking in to consideration the performance index in statistics, Akwa United had great season, having played 37 games with 71 points, 6 points clear ahead of the immediate runners up, won 19 games, draw 14 and lost only 4 and crowned champions, while Lobi Stars played same number of games with 55 points, won 16 games, draw 4 and lost 14, occupying the 8th position with a 4 point difference to the next in line.
Lobi Stars had maintained a good home record having won 15 and drawn 3 of 18 home games without any loss, they can not afford to chicken out the record at last and they also want to avange 3-0 they suffered in Uyo.
On the other hand Akwa United will aiming to do the double over the Kabiru Dogo side , such realistic ambition is a threat to Lobi Stars since this is his only opportunity to make the difference.
