Lobi Stars records first ever away win against Dakkada FC

Lobi Stars bounced back from mid week defeat to Enyimba with an impressive victory against Dakkada FC at the Nest of Champions on Sunday.

Prior to the game, Lobi Stars has never beaten Dakkada on their own turf, but the record became thing of the past, thanks to a superb goal from birthday boy John Lazarus.

The Lobi Stars right full back John’s  thunderous free kick in the 27th minute gave the Pride of Benue deserve victory.

Lobi Stars settled quickly into the game and Lazarus had to descent chances to score the opening goal, but he couldn’t find a away past goalkeeper Olawale Oremade.

Lazarus was third time lucky, when his 27th minute well executed free kick from the edge of the box hit the back of the net and left the goalkeeper Olawale Oremade stranded in goal.

Dakkada reacted spiritedly but all there efforts were contained by the excellent defensive network of John Bello and Alex Aghahowa, flanked by John Lazarus on the right and Ebube Duru on the left.

On the 56th minute, Sani Mohammed almost made it two for the vistors goalkeeper Olawale Oremade was there again to parry the ball.

Several free kick efforts of captain Aniekan Ekpe’s shots at goal from dead balls either went off target or were picked up by Nwabali Stanley.

Dakkada mounted last minutes pressure on Lobi Stars but there was no threat  enough to create panic and Lobi Stars held on to the goal.

Lobi Stars will be heading back to Makurdi for the clash againstRangers International in a mid-week match day 26 of the NPFL 2020/2021 fixture.
