Rangers boss, Abdul Maikaba said his side earned a fair result against Sunshine Stars in Akure on Sunday.

The Flying Antelopes came from behind to secure a vital 1-1 draw with hosts, Sunshine Stars on Sunday.

The six-time Nigerian Champions trailed in the 13 minutes when Ibrahim Yusuf hit the opening goal of the encounter for the home side.

Rangers, took the fight to their hosts and scored the equalizer in the 28th minute off the boot of Nwobodo, who drilled home from a very tight angle after been set up by Chidera Ezeh off a Naziru Auwalu pass.

Both sides created more scoring opportunities but couldn’t put the ball behind the net and so they settled for a share of the spoils.

“I actually came here to win but the early goal conceded demoralized the boys but the determination was there in the boys which gave us the equalizer and had more opportunity to go ahead early in the second half, but was missed.

“I think it was a fair result to both sides as we keep working to ensure we end the season well,” Maikaba said after the match.

Rangers remain 7th in Group B log with 14 points from 13 matches, and will next play Niger Tornadoes at the Awka City Stadium in the weekend of April 15/16.
