Kano Pillars striker Nyima Nwangwa has stated that Pillars are in a tight corner after failing to sparkle in the 1-1 home draw against Gombe United which saw them lose further ground in the race for a top-three finish at the end of the season.
Nwangwa described the situation as an unfortunate one in a chat with www.brila.net and said now the players have more work to do in order to realize the task of ensuring that the team finishes in the top 3 no matter what.
“It was a bad day for our team, we had few chances and played well but we can’t just score. We’ve put ourselves in a tight corner and we just have to bring ourselves out of this.
We don’t want to drop points at this stage of the season, it’s just quite unfortunate that this happened to us in our game.”
Kano Pillars missed the opportunity to get themselves to within a point of the top 3 positions and retain hopes of the team’s ability to make up for the unfortunate home draw.
