Nigeria must seek to win and win well against Czech Republic to restore their confidence, former captain and Coach Augustine Eguavoen has offered.
The Super Eagles were underwhelming in the last two World Cup warm up games; drawing against DR Congo and falling to England after a diabolic first half, but on Wednesday the team has a chance to redeem Eguavoen has told Brila.net.
Eguavoen, who represented Nigeria at the 1994 World Cup and later became Coach of the team in 2005, argues that a win against the European side will help boost the team’s confidence.
He insists it also send a clear message to the team’s world cup opponents, asserting Nigeria’s readiness for the tournament.
Nigeria will open it’s 6th world cup appearance with a crunch game against Croatia before the team faces Iceland and Argentina in the remaining group D matches.
