Man United legend Mickey Thomas is cancer free

Former Welsh footballer, Michael Reginald Thomas started his career with Wrexham, As a skillful and pacy winger in his early days at Wrexham, Mickey Thomas later played for some of the biggest clubs in England, but rarely did he stay for long. Upon his arrival at Manchester United, he was dubbed the ‘Welsh George Best’, he also played for Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion, Stoke City, Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Derby County, Shrewsbury Town, and Leeds United during his 22-year playing career.

 

The 64-year-old was diagnosed with stomach cancer in January 2019.

 

At the commencement of his treatment in February, feeling optimistic he wrote on Twitter “…I aim to beat this in 90 minutes with no extra time and penalties”.

 

Less than 4-months after commencing treatment, Michael Thomas announced on his twitter account that he has beaten cancer.
