Head coach Manu Garba has praised his wards for their impressive performance at the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
The five time world champions had to come back from behind to put the South Americans to sword , thanks to Said Ibrahim’s hat-trick , which is first of this tournament.
Manu Garba however praised his side for showing character once more to clinch a crucial win that puts them into the round of 16.
‘First of all I want to praise the boys today for their never say die attitude and mental strength.”
“Today we were up a highly technical side who also were also physically good so I want to praise my boys for pushing till the end. I am very proud of them.”
‘With the way we are going, it means we just have to work on our defensive lapses which is more of lack of concentration but I am sure we will correct it by the time we get to the knockout stages’ Garba said.
Manu Garba added that the team will treat the last group game with Australia with all seriousness ,in order to keep the momentum and feelings in the team going.
‘We are going to approach that match with a winning mentality. We want to keep the confidence high and also qualify top of the group. So we will remain focused for Australia who are a good team.” He concluded.
