Manchester United terminates Ronaldo’s £500k weekly contract

Manchester United have parted ways with Forward Cristiano Ronaldo “with immediate effect”.

The Club announced via their website on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement to terminate Ronaldo’s contract.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.”

“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.”

“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch,” Manchester United said in a statement.

Ronaldo fell out with manager Erik Ten Hag, and refused to come as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur.

He then granted an interview with Piers Morgan, accusing the club of disrespecting him.

Ronaldo only returned to Manchester United last year, following his exit from Juventus.
