Enyimba striker Victor Mbaoma has stated that he and his colleagues will now have to shift attention to the CAF Confederation cup after falling short of the required result to advance to the group stage of the CAF champions league following the team’s 2-1 win against Sudanese Al-Merreikh in Aba on Wednesday having lost the first leg 3-0 in Omdurman two weeks ago.
Mbaoma who scored both goals in the 2-1 win speaking in a chat with brila.net dismissed the impact of his absence in the calamitous first leg fixture after missing the tie due to injury and rather rued the loss on the team not been able to get the job done over the course of the two-legged fixtures.
“It is not what we wanted but what do we do, we just have to hope for the best in the CAF Confederation Cup. It’s just about the team, it’s not about one man so it happened the way it happened not because I was not there. So even if I was there what happened would have actually happened. So it’s not just all about me.”
