Rivers United’s defender Ifeanyi Anaemena says he’s excited to be part of the Super Eagles squad for the international friendly against Mexico.
Anaemena and 24 others were invited by coach Gernot Rohr for the July 3rd encounter in USA, but they will camp for few days in Abuja, where the squad will be cut down to 22 players.
The former Enyimba defender and his teammate Enyinnaya Kaziearrived the team’s Serob Legacy Hotel, Wuye Abuja on Tuesday night.
Speaking to the media, Anaemena said he’s proud to be part of the team and gave kudos to the National team handlers for picking the home based players for the clash.
“I’m very excited and proud to be invited for the game, it’s a another very good opportunity for us to represent our country in a competitive game “.
“We must give kudos to the coaches and NFF for trusting the players and I’m sure this game will give the NPFL players the needed experience and it also a great platform for us to prepare for CHAN,” He added.
The game between Nigeria and Mexico will be played in Los Angeles, California on July 3rd 2021.
