MFM Basketball club beat Nigeria Customs to qualify for the semi-finals of the Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League National 6 and became the first club to do so.
The Olukoya ladies who are tutored by Coach Aderemi Adewumi secured a 56-49 points victory over the Nigeria Customs ladies.
The Lagos based team continued their impressive run in the league as they dominated the game with 17-12, 12-9, 11-18, 16-10.
Bettle Ekperigha, Godgift Joseph, Joy Aku, Juliet Chinenye and Jessica Dimaro contributed 28 points while Regina Donanu who was introduced from the bench recorded 19 points, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds as they qualified for the semifinals of the Final 6.
Josset Anaswen performance of 19 points, 2 assists and 5 steals, and Abimbola Olumodeji’s 12 points and 3 assists was not enough to save the Customs from defeat.
