MFM FC relegated from NPFL after Six seasons

MFM FC have been relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Olukoya Boys lost 1-2 to Niger Tornadoes in Sunday’s week 36 NPFL fixture in Ijebu Ode.

Following the defeat, MFM FC can only pick nine points, but it won’t be enough to see them climb out of the relegation zone with only two round of games left.

Needing a win in the encounter, MFM FC unfortunately fell behind from a Munir Iris goal for the visitors.

However, the hosts fought their way back through Chukwudi Ekeocha, who converted a brilliant free kick.

With the game looking like it could end in a share of the spoils for the sides, Jonas Emmanuel netted a late winner for Tornadoes to send the Olukoya Boys back to Nigeria National League.

In their six seasons in the top flight, they played the CAF Champions League and produced some of most talented players in the league.
