Nigerian midfielder Kingsley Michael has penned a season long loan deal with Austrian club SV Ried.

The 22-year-old decided on l SV Ried, in other to boost his chances of playing regular football after a frustrating time at Bologna last season.

The player was officially unveiled by his new team on Tuesday.

“Due to the injuries in the past few weeks, we had to take action, especially in central midfield,” SV Ried said in a statement.

“We deliberately took our time in our search to find a player who fits our requirements profile. We think we’ve found that type of player in Kingsley Michael.

“He is dynamic and aggressive in duels. It’s a win-win situation for both Bologna and us. Kingsley Michael gets game practice with us, we get a very good player.”

Michael Kingsley signed for Bologna in 2018, but has spent time on loan at Perugia, Cremonese and Regina.

He played his only senior game for the Super Eagles against Cape Verde in Mindelo November 2021.
