Mikel Agu happy to be back in Eagles squad for Bafana Bafana clash

Mikel Agu has expressed his delight after getting a recall back to the Super Eagles squad to face South Africa and Uganda later this month.

Speaking to Brila FM’s Anthony Bekederemo on Players scorecard on Tuesday morning, the Victoria Setubal Midfielder said he is delighted to have been handed a recall.

“I’m happy to be back, I ‘ve always shown readiness to represent my fatherland whenever called upon,” says the on-loan FC Porto midfielder.

Agu was recalled into the Super Eagles team to replace Leicester City’s midfield anchor Wilfred Ndidi who will be missing the clash due to an accumulation of Cards.

The 25-year-old Midfielder was dropped from the Eagles squad in the final minutes heading to last summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia alongside Chelsea’s Olaoluwa Aina.

On November 17, the Super Eagles play their crucial African Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa away at the FNB Stadium before hosting Uganda in a friendly billed for the Stephen Keshi Stadium, three days later.
