Former Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta has signed a contract with Arsenal to become the new head coach at the Emirates Stadium, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speculation surrounding the deal has been ongoing all week, with first reports surrounding major advances in a deal coming to light on Monday morning.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish coach has put pen to paper on a deal at the Emirates Stadium, to become the successor to the recently departed Unai Emery.
Previous reports have suggested the deal will be worth approximately £5 million-a-season – matching the wage package earned by Emery. It is also understood that Arteta will be tied down to an initial three-year deal with the Gunners.
