Nigerian midfielder, John Mikel Obi will reunite with his former Chelsea teammate Daniel Sturridge , after the attacker joined Turkish club Trabzonspor on a three-year contract.
Sturridge had been in talks with Trabzonspor, Besiktas , Serie A side Atalanta and Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt as he searched for a new team following the expiration of his deal with Liverpool in June.
However, The 29-year-old finally penned a three year deal with Trabzonspor to reunite with his former Chelsea teammate Mikel Obi for the first time after seven years.
The pair won the English premier league , FA Cup and the UEFA champions league together during their time with the London Club, before Sturridge joined Liverpool in January 2013.
Sturridge who scored 67 goals in 160 appearances for Liverpool, signed a 2 years deal with an optional 3rd year, consisting of € 2 million of signing fee and €1.5 million per annum.
