Egyptian winger, Mohammed Salah failed to find the back of the net against Stoke City as the Potters succeeded in frustrating Liverpool to a goalless stalemate.
Liverpool had the majority of the possession and chances in Saturday afternoon’s early kick-off but failed to make their dominance count as Salah missed the chance to extend his Golden Boot lead.
The PFA Player of the year, Salah squandered the best chance of the match after just six minutes as Stoke held on to move within three points of safety, although they now have only two games of their season remaining.
This is the first match Mohammed Salah has played without scoring a single goal at Anfield since Boxing Day, 2017.
The result stretches Liverpool’s unbeaten run to nine matches across all competitions, but it was a lacklustre display heading into a week which sees them take on Roma and Chelsea.
Stoke, meanwhile, will now go into their final two matches against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace and Swansea City with renewed hope of pulling off a great escape despite seeing their winless run stretch to 12 games.
