Mohamed Salah rules out Liverpool exit

Mohammed Salah was recognised yesterday for his incredible campaign by claiming a Player of the Season double at Liverpool’s end-of-campaign awards on Friday (AEST).

Salah scored 43 goals in all competitions in his first season at Anfield, helping Jurgen Klopp’s men into the Champions League final.

The 25-year-old, who is contracted until 2022, said he is committed to achieving even more at Liverpool, amid reports Real Madrid are interested in his signature.

“I’m very happy here and everything is fine,” he said when picking up his FWA trophy on Thursday night. “I have got ambitions for the future, with Liverpool.

“We had a great season and now we are in the Champions League final, and everyone is excited. It is just the start. This is my first year here and it is the same for some other players. We have had an unbelievable year. It is just the beginning.

“I am very happy to win these awards. I had a good season but, without the help of my teammates, it would have been very difficult. We all try to help each other. We all try to give more and we all try to push each other.

“We are a team who fight for each other every day. I work hard to help my team. Now I want to finish the season in a good way.”

Salah has failed to find the back of the net in any of his last three outings, stretching back to the 5-2 win over Roma in the Champions League on April 24.
