Moses Simon was on target for his club Nantes in French Ligue One game against Dijon FC at Stade de la Beaujoire Stadium on Sunday.
It was Simon’s first start after overcoming an injury he sustained against Paris Saint Germain in October.
The winger converted from the spot in the 28th minute, after Jonathan Panzo tripped Renaud Emond in the box.
Dijon however restored parity through Moussa Konate in the 54th minute, following an assist from Ibrahim Didier Ndong.
Moses Simon almost got his second goal of the match in the 78th minute, but Anthony Racipoppi produced a good save to deny the Nantes talisman.
The 1-1 draw is the first point for new coach Patrick Collot, who replaced Christian Gourcuff.
Simon’s second Ligue One goal of the season was enough to lift Les Canaris from 14th position on the table after 14 games.
