The World Football Governing Body FIFA has described Super captain Ahmed Musa as the most capped Nigerian player, after featuring against the Central African Republic on Sunday.
Musa was involved in Super Eagles 0-2 victory over the Wild Beasts of the Central African Republic at the Stade Omnisports in Douala on Sunday.
The Fatih Karagumruk star started the game and assisted the team to a remarkable win over their hosts.
After the final whistle, FIFA stated Ahmed Musa has now played 101 matches for Nigeria.
“Ahmed Musa, Most capped Nigerian player. 101 appearances ” FIFA wrote on social media.
This means the former Leicester City winger earned his 100th cap when he came on as a late substitute against the Central African Republic last Thursday.
Meanwhile, Musa will set a new record, should he feature in the next game against Liberia in Ghana next month.
The Super Eagles are now in a dominant position in Group C with nine points from four games.
