My players will learn from their mistakes, says Rivers United’s Stanley Eguma

Head coach of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, said his side will learn from their mistakes and correct them as the season progresses.

River United played out a 1-1 draw against Lobi Stars in their NPFL opener at the Aper Aku stadium in Makurdi on Sunday.

The draw felt like a defeat for the Pride of Rivers as they failed to put the game beyond their hosts in the first half.

Rivers United wasted numerous scoring opportunities, and allowed Lobi Stars come back and snatch a point out of nothing.

We dominated in the first half, we had a lot of scoring chances butmy players missed it, we should have wrapped up the game in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, they came up stronger but we were able to contain them and the game ended in a draw.

Above all, it was a good game, it’s the beginning of the league we are trying to size ourselves and we will learn from our mistakes and come out better next time,” he conclude.
