Napoli captain Insigne can learn from Osimhen – Malfitano

Popular Italian journalist and Napoli critic, Mimmo Malfitano, has blasted team Captain Lorenzo Insigne for the poor display in the defeat to Fiorentina which left Napoli’s Scudetto dream hanging by a thread.

Insigne flopped in what happened to be one of the biggest game of the season for Napoli.

Gli Azzurri lost 3-2 and Osimhen yet again was the standout player for the Luciano Spalletti’s team at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

The Nigerian forward scored one and assisted the goal scored by Dries Mertens.

Speaking on Radio kiss in Naples, Mimmo Malfitano, a popular journalist in Naples singled out Insigne for criticisms, accusing him of lacking character like Osimhen.

“So I predict balance, days ago we were magnifying the match in Bergamo but in fact more the result of the performance.”

“Insigne? He moves well, takes the side pass, ok. But then from the point of view of concreteness he didn’t give anything. But in general this applies to all of Napoli beyond Osimhen.”

” If Insigne had 50% of the character of Osimhen we would review many things about the judgment of this player.”

” I’m sorry it’s always me who talks about it, I wouldn’t want to think about a persecution, I have nothing against Insigne, I exalted him when he deserved it. But against Fiorentina, I don’t consider him a player able to make a difference in this Naples.

“Before putting a tombstone on the Napoli championship, we wait, there is no condemnation,” He said.
