Napoli desperate to keep Osimhen after Spalletti’s exit

Napoli are confident of keeping Victor Osimhen, despite the exit of head coach Luciano Spalletti.

Spalletti announced he would be leaving the club after leading the club to league glory for the first time in 33-years.

The Italian manager has good relationship with the squad, including Osimhen, who has been linked with a big move to Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

Osimhen thrived under the Italian tutelage, becoming a leader and better football player within Spalletti’s two year stay in Naples.

Reports however suggest, the departure of Spalletti could open door of possible exit for Victor Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Osimhen has two-year left on the five year contract he signed in 2020, and both parties have been coy on new deal.

Napoli in the past said the Nigerian international is not for sale and the feeling within the club remain the same.

According to Calciomercato, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is eager to keep Osimhen and his the Georgian partner at the club and is doing his utmost to convince him to stay.

Napoli plans to retain the title the won last season, and keeping Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is vital.

The club is likely to announce a new manager very soon.
