Napoli is ready to open new contract talks with Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen emerged as a shocking transfer target for Premier League money bags Newcastle United and Arsenal in January, but the Club turned their every approach and made it clear he’s not for sale.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli is now looking at the possibilities of tying down the 23-year-old who still has three years left on his current deal.
Osimhen has been an instant hit since arriving at Napoli in a €75m deal from Lille two years ago.
He has scored 10 goals for the Partenopei this season, including a late winner in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Venezia at the Stadio Penzo this afternoon.
The frontman has netted twelve goals from 19 matches in all competitions this season, during which he has missed two months with a fractured cheekbone.
That, combined with Covid, ruled him out of the Africa Cup of Nations although Osimhen has returned as a substitute in Napoli’s last two matches.
His current contract expires in 2025.
