Manager Luciano Spalletti is hoping to have available for the Europa League round of 16 game against Barcelona at Camp Nou.
The Nigerian international sustained a knee injury in training and and Spalleti confirmed the striker is fighting to be fit for the game.
The Italian manager added that, the striker will be assess on Thursday morning.
“It is not a muscular problem, he just had a slightly swollen knee yesterday, so as a precaution we decided to rest him and will evaluate his condition tomorrow morning. “
“He finished yesterday’s training session without problems,” assured the coach in a press conference.
The first leg of the game will hold in Camp Nuo, in Barcelona, while Napoli will host the second leg eight days later.
Barcelona dropped down into this play-off from the Champions League after finishing third in their group, while Napoli finished second in Group C behind Spartak Moscow.
